We don’t want to keep our lovely buildings to ourselves. If you’re planning an event, from a child’s birthday party to a concert, have a look at our options.
St John The Baptist Church, Hatherleigh
For larger events or concerts, the church building provides a beautiful setting with seating for around 200. The church regularly plays host to the ‘Two Moors Festival’ for classical concerts.
There is an integral sound system with loop in the building allowing as standard four cabled inputs plus 4 radio mics. Further lighting and sound equipment with an engineer can be arranged.
At present we feel a little limited in our ability to provide hospitality features, but our ongoing building project includes plans for all-ability toilets and a small kitchen facility. We hope this will open up the church for use in the future to a much wider public.
Old Schools, Hatherleigh
The historic Old Schools building provides a a versatile space suitable for meetings, community events, classes, societies / groups, and small parties or celebrations.
The ground floor provides a large all purpose room, with power and heating, and folding trestle tables and chairs to accommodate up to 50 people.
The building has two large halls / meeting rooms on the ground floor, and first floor. In addition to this there is a well equipped kitchen with kitchen suitable for light catering.
Old schools has toilet facilities, however please be aware that these are located upstairs and so are unsuitable for all-ability use, although the building does neighbour the town public toilets
